As a bboy supporter, chatting with award-winning dancer Bboy Blond is a true highlight that brings intriguing discoveries and plenty of laughs.

With his original crew (Extreme Crew) he won the 2007 Battle of the Year and has since continued to impress the scene; recently taking out the 7 to Smoke battle at IBE held in Heerlen, Netherlands.

In this interview teaser, Bboy Blond tells us about his big move to Australia from Korea, Extreme Crew and SKB, his thoughts on the new generation of dancers and more. Full interview coming soon but, for now, enjoy the preview.

Nice Kicks x Vans Vault ‘The Duel’ Pack

Texas based retailer Nice Kicks has teamed up with Vans to produce a special edition pack labelled ‘The Duel’.

Inspired by the cowboys of the wild west, The Duel was inspired by childhood memories of Nice Kicks founder and publisher, Matt Halfhill.

“The oiled leather and heel cap represent my first pair of boots, as well as the saddle and reins on a horse. The red Vans Vault logo on the back is a tribute to both the Nice Kicks logo and the Texas flag. The raw denim and antique brass further underscore the Western influence of the collaboration,” says Halfhill.

The pack will feature the Vans Era LX and Sk8-Hi styles, and will be released exclusively at the Nice Kicks shop in Austin, Texas on September 14. An online release will be available the following day at ShopNiceKicks.

UPDATE: The Old Library shortlisted for IDEA 2012

The Old Library has been shortlisted in the Hospitality category of the Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2012. The Interior Design Excellence Awards is Australia’s largest and most successful independent design awards program. Launched by (Inside) magazine in 2003, the program celebrates the best of Australian interior and product design across 11 categories and five special awards.

Designer Hecker Guthrie transformed what was originally a library in the 70s, into a modern Italian designer in Cronulla, Sydney. Award winners and commendations will be announced at the IDEA Gala Party, to be held on Friday 9 November at the Seymour Centre in Sydney. Check out more finalists here.

We spoke to owner, Mario Kalpou, about the restaurant’s award-nominated design and decor here and discovered more about Mario himself here.
